Arthur Ashe:
Arthur Ashe was an illustrious tennis player and is best known for being the first and only black player to ever win the singles title of Wimbledon, Australian Open and the U.S. Open. He was also the first black player to play for the United States Davis Cup team. In 1983, Ashe underwent a heart surgery, but lamentably contracted HIV during the blood transfusion. Eventually, he died on February 6, 1993, after going through a long phase of illness.

Isaac Asimov

He was also a professor of biochemistry at Boston University. When he died on April 6, 1992, in New York City, his family stated that kidney and heart failure was the prime cause of his death. However, ten years after his death, his wife disclosed in an autobiography that his death was the result of an infection of HIV. During his bypass surgery, his blood was contaminated during transfusion.
